Fishing Report for 05/22/14

The holiday weekend is upon us and the fish are biting fast and furious. Black drum bite by far has been the best in several years. average size 20-40 lbs with occasionally a 60 lber. bouy 13 is best but also have been at 16 and just outside the high rise. sea clams are the bait of choice. Reds are now showing in the surf along with black drum and striper. peeler and sea clams preferred. fresh bunker also a good bait. The fish in the browns suit (cobia) are also showing with fish cruising the surface. bunker peeler and eels are the preferred bait. flounder are in the ditch and also out of Oyster. sea mullet and croaker are also in the bay and off Kiptopeke pier. bloodworms squid and shrimp are working well. Sheepshead have also started to bit at lattimer shoal. Looks like a great weekend.
